MAE: Ukraine can’t build nuclear reactors while disregarding Romania

The Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) stated yesterday that Ukrainian authorities cannot move on to constructing reactors 3 and 4 at the nuclear power plant in Khmelnytskyi while disregarding the Romania side’s observations on the project’s potential environment impact on the Romanian territory. At the same time, the MAE pointed out that Ukrainian authorities were asked for supplementary information on the stage of internal procedures for the approval of the project, the situation set to be analyzed based on the clarifications received. The nuclear power plant is situated approximately 150 kilometers from the Romanian territory.
