Medical problems for two of Romania’s great stars

Two stars with which Steaua Bucharest won the European Champions Cup in 1986 have health problems and underwent important surgeries in recent days.Helmuth Duckadam, former Steaua goalkeeper and the club’s current honorary president, underwent surgery on Tuesday at the Floreasca Hospital, medical sources quoted by Mediafax inform. The surgery sought to remove a blood clot in his right arm. The surgery was initially scheduled on Monday but new lesions were discovered and the intervention was postponed for one day, medical sources pointed out. At the closing of this edition the outcome of the surgery was not known. In 2009 Helmuth Duckadam  underwent surgery in Timisoara, a blood vessel being replaced in his right arm.In his turn, former national team and Steaua coach Emeric Ienei is feeling well after undergoing heart surgery on Sunday in Cluj-Napoca, Mediafax informs. “I talked this morning  with my husband; he can talk, he told me he is feeling well. He had good tonus, he is talking and he is very cooperative with the doctors and nurses,” Ileana Ienei stated.
