Daewoo-Mangalia Heavy Industries to build two ships for Ocean Yield

Daewoo-Mangalia Heavy Industries (DMHI) struck a contract with Norway’s Ocean Yield for the construction of two Roll on/roll off ships, with a further four ship option, Mediafax reports. The 200m ships have a total capacity of up to 6,500motor vehicles, will be delivered in 2014 and will be operated by another Norwegian company.  The contract was signed earlier this month. DMHI is a joint venture made up of Korean ship builder DSME and the Mangalia shipyard held by the Economy Ministry. Since  1997, the company has delivered over 130 commercial ships, structures for marine drilling platforms and heavy metal confections
