OMV: Giant gas and petrol reserves in the Black Sea

OMV CEO Gerhard Roiss told German “Manager” magazine, that Romania will see a huge growth thanks to the giant gas and petrol reserves found in the Black Sea. “A discovery of global importance. We have bought the largest petrol station and refinery operator in Romania, and this example makes us notice that we own the niche of integrated European concern,” Gerhard Roiss also said, according to OMV official believes that Nabucco could be used not only to deliver gas from Azerbaijan (the Shah-Deniz deposit) to Europe, but also for that extracted from the Black Sea. The OMV head also said he is not concerned about the repeated delay of the gas duct’s construction since gas deliveries from the Black Sea to Europe could only kick off  in 2020 and “and there’s no use to get hasty about deciding Nabucco’s fate”.Gerhard Roiss explained that two-thirds of the OMV production comes from Austria and Romania, and added that the two countries are very stable principal markets.
