UDMR MP Olosz Gergely, former director of the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) in 2007-2008, has been sued for influence peddling. He is accused of helping four companies obtain advantageous contracts in exchange for kickbacks of over EUR 500,000 and RON 400,000.Thus, National Corruption Agency (DNA) prosecutors have sued the MP for influence peddling, a DNA communiqué issued on Thursday and quoted by Mediafax informs. Prosecutors accuse Ion Bircina and Costin Iliescu, the representatives of several companies, of influence peddling and of buying influence. Likewise, the prosecutors have sued Catalin Stan, administrator of SC Power Plus SRL, accusing him of buying influence, forgery committed with the purpose of hiding the offence and tax evasion. Prosecutors accuse Ovidiu Ionel Badea, administrator of SC Budirom Serv SRL, of buying influence. The file has been sent to the High Court.
