BCR intermediates gold transactions of over 500 kg in nine months

Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) has intermediated, in the first nine months of the year, gold transactions of over 500 kilograms, totaling approximately RON 100 M, the most important of them having an average of over 40 kilograms of gold, the bank announced yesterday. BCR’s private banking clients can transaction gold in the form of bars since 2009. “Nations and central banks trust gold as a reserve asset. The heightened interest for what seems to turn from a precious metal into a “reserve currency” is seen in Romania too, the growing rate of gold transactions being exponential,” Razvan Furtuna, head of BCR’s private banking service, stated in a communiqué.
