The emergency ordinance 1/2012 that postpones until January 1st 2013 the enforcement of the car tax was approved Tuesday by the Chamber of Deputies, which has the final say in this case. The delay is operational since the enforcement of this ordinance, from February 2012 until December 31, 2012. The ordinance also regulates the situation of those who already paid the tax for the transcription of the property right for their automobile. In this case, taxpayers may ask to be refunded the tax at the pertinent state institutions, as provided by Ordinance 92/2003 on the fiscal procedure code. The ordinance had previously passed in the Senate by the tacit adoption procedure and the Budget and Industry committees of the Lower House gave their approval as well.
