PNL deputy Eugen Nicolaescuy filed a draft law signed by 50 Liberal MPs, which would found the National Agency for Prevention in the Health Sector, which would benefit an annual budget equivalent to at least 10 pc of the budget of the Health Ministry and the National House of Health Insurances (CNAS).Under the draft law, the National Agency for Prevention in the Health Sector is a public institution reporting to the Ministry of Health, which coordinates a national programme of prevention in the health sector.“The sums provided by the state budget for prevention activities in the health sector cannot be lower than 10 pc of the public funds allotted to the national health system (Health Ministry and National House of Health Insurances),” reads the draft law.Nicolaescu explained that the act is meant to “increase the public awareness on the need for prevention in the health sector and force the state to assume this activity, as well as inform citizens and get them involved in the common responsibility for the health state.”
