Bucharest Police opened a probe in the case of verbal assault and threats made Wednesday, in a central street of Bucharest, against the president of the National Council for Combatting Discriminations, Csaba Asztalos. According to Police sources quoted by Mediafax, Csaba Asztalos came Friday to Bucharest Police and filed a complaint. A group of NGOs reported the incident to PM Victor Ponta this Saturday, in an open letter, and the premier asked authorities to investigate the incident. The ‘Elie Wiesel’ National Institute for Holocaust Studying yesterday voiced its concern over the verbal assault in the public space against Asztalos Csaba and asked the pertinent institutions to take the due measures.
