IMF delegation, in Bucharest November 6-14

An IMF expert team, led by the chief of the Fund’s mission in Romania, Erik de Vrijer, will be in Bucharest on November 6-14 for talks with Romanian authorities on the recent economic evolutions, the economic prospects, the fiscal and monetary policy and structural reforms. The IMF team will be accompanied by experts of the European Commission and the World Bank, the IMF representative for Romania and Bulgaria, Tonny Lybek announced in a press release issued yesterday by the Fund. Against the background of the parliamentary elections due to be held in Romania on December 9, the 7th evaluation of the programme agreed through the stand-by agreement with the IMF will be postponed, the document informs. The IMF team tasked with discussing the performance registered as part of the programme and deciding with authorities the necessary measures in view of concluding the evaluation will arrive in Bucharest when a new government will be invested, Lybeck explains in the release.
