Sima vs. Chirieac and the Switzerland money

The bizarre financial scandal caused by the flight of the broker Cristian Sima, where several victims who have suffered damages worth millions of euro are still not filing criminal complaints, so far has been more or less based on words – more exactly on what the fugitive stated in the letters he has been sending to Romanian media. The initial checks performed by the National Securities Board (CNVM) at Sima’s companies – WBS Romania, operating on the local stock exchanges, and WBS Holding, operating exclusively on foreign markets – are bringing up the first documents that corroborate, even if in part – Sima’s claims. Documents obtained by ‘Adevarul’ daily show that amounts totalling over USD 640,000 have been rolled via the accounts opened by the analyst Bogdan Chirieac with Cristian Sima’s brokerage firm.In his latest letter to the press, Cristian Sima said the following: ‘In 2000, through the WBS Holding account opened with the BSI Chiasso Switzerland bank, he received over USD 1.5 M which he distributed to politicians. He kept USD 60,000 for himself and wired it without any hesitation straight into his wife’s account with the National Bank of Greece’.
