Orange initiates first HD international call in the world

Orange customers in Romania and Moldova will be able to initiate HD quality voice calls between the two countries. In world premiere, Orange succeeded to interconnect the two mobile networks with different infrastructure, in order to ensure an impeccable HD Voice quality from one country to the other, reads a press release. In Romania, the number of HD calls substantially increased since it was launched in May 2011, up to approximately 20 million now. Thus, in Q3 2012 the company registered 10 times more HD Voice calls than a year ago. Moreover, 90 pc of HD customers say the service provides a superior quality of the sound, while 85 pc noticed clear differences between a HD call and a standard one. Orange Romania currently sells 15 models of HD Voice compatible phones, but plans to increase the range also by adding new compatible handsets to its ‘Best Deal’ offer.
