Election hustle and bustle begins: Candidates submit files to BEJ

The candidates in the parliamentary election on December 9 have submitted their files to the County Electoral Bureaus. A total of 32 people have submitted their candidate files to the County Electoral Bureau of Bistrita-Nasaud to stand for election in the December parliamentary election, in the four electoral districts for the Chamber of Deputies and two for the Senate. According to BEJ Bistrita-Nasaud, 21 of the 32 candidates run for the Chamber of Deputies and 11 for the Senate, on behalf of ARD, USL, UDMR, PPMT, PRM, PER and PPDD. Before the deadline on Tuesday at midnight BEJ Cluj had registered 83 candidacies for the 14 single member constituencies in the county, one being an independent candidate. The representatives of BEJ Cluj told Mediafax yesterday that complete or partial lists of candidates had been submitted by seven parties, unions or political alliances. ‘Partial or complete lists of candidates were submitted by seven parties, unions or political alliances: ARD, USL, UDMR, PPMT, PPDD, PRM and PER’, said BEJ Cluj representatives. The county organization of PP-DD Dolj submitted its list of candidates in the parliamentary election to the County Electoral Bureau on Tuesday. Some of them are ex-Craiova Mayor Antonie Solomon, Gigi Netoiu and Gelu Visan, former PDL member.Antonie Solomon said he wanted to empower the people of Craiova through his voice in Parliament. In Alba County, all seven Alba MPs are running again in December, some planning to trade their current seat in the Chamber of Deputies in for one in the Senate, such as the Liberal Teodor Atanasiu, put under investigation after the July referendum. Among the candidates there are folk music performer Ionut Fulea and former prefects. Yesterday, UDMR President Kelemen Hunor told a press conference that the Union had candidates in the parliamentary election in all the single-member districts in the country, 20 per cent being ladies and 27 per cent being representatives of the youth organisation. He said the 315 UDMR candidates stand for election as members of the Chamber of Deputies and 137 of the Senate.
