Traffic on DN 7C – Transfagarasan, between Piscu Negru and the Balea Cascada Chalet, was closed as of today during winter, same as on 45.2 km a segment of DN 67C – Transalpina, between Ranca and Curpat, where construction works are still under way. Traffic on the 26.8 km segment of DN 7C will be closed from November 1st 2012 to June 30, 2013 and the restrictions will be well signalised. The decision was determined by the adverse weather conditions during winter time, which may endanger the safety of road traffic – landslides, falling rocks, heavy snow and icy road. In the case of Transalpina, traffic on the 45.2 km segment was closed because of winter conditions and also because constructors did not finalise the road safety works.
