Volker Diergardt and Christopher Obi, the representatives of Germany’s DK Sportler Beraten, took part in several rounds of negotiations with the leadership of U Cluj and with potential sponsors on Thursday. The papers could be signed today in Bucharest, ‘Ziua de Cluj’ writes. The deal that would see U Cluj becoming the first League I club owned by a Western company is as good as done, the two Germans stated. According to the aforementioned source, the club’s new owners will pay around EUR 650,000 for the majority shares package, and they will then pay the salaries owed to employees and players, which total around EUR 250,000. At this moment U Cluj owes significant debts to the state, debts totaling EUR 1 M, the club’s bank accounts being frozen as a result.
