UniCredit CAIB Securities leaves the Romanian brokerage market

UniCredit CAIB Securities, part of the UniCredit group and one of the most active broker firms at the Bucharest Stock Exchanges, will leave the Romanian brokerage market, most likely until the end of this year. “The brokerage will be closed. It was a strategic decision at group level. So far, it only refers to us, the Romanian branch. Today was the first day when we informed our clients about this decision and, probably, we will stop the transactions until the end of this year,” the CEO of UniCredit CAIB Securities, Ioana Tanase said for Mediafax. Thus, the 4th largest broker on BVB, with transactions worth RON 1.13 bln and a market share of 6.63 pc, UniCredit CAIB Securities leaves the market of services on the capital market, one month after ING’s announcement on withdrawing from the brokerage activity. At that moment, ING was the 3rd largest broker on BVB.
