Nuclearelectrica shuts down one nuclear reactor

State-owned Nuclearelectrica conducted an unplanned shutdown of the number 2 reactor of the nuclear power plant in Cernavoda after “an automated quick shutdown system suddenly started,” Mediafax informs. “The causes of the event are investigated in line with the power plant’s procedures,” a Nuclearelectrica communiqué shows. The shutdown took place at 11.30 AM and the reactor is estimated to go back online on Friday.
