Romania climbs 9 places in FIFA rankings

Romania’s national football team has climbed 9 places and is 37th, with 669 points, in the FIFA rankings for October, the table being published on Wednesday on the world football body’s official website. Here are the places that Romania’s opponents in Group D of the World Cup 2014 qualifiers hold: Netherlands dropped on place and is 7th (1,128 pts), Turkey dropped two places and is 38th (639 pts), Hungary climbed 19 places and is 30th (753 pts), Estonia dropped 15 places and is 84th (430 pts), Andorra dropped two places and is 203rd (13 pts). World and European title holders Spain top the table with 1,564 points, followed by Germany (1,421 pts) and Argentina (1,349 pts).
