Transelectrica closed the first nine months on a net profit of RON 19.2 M (EUR 4.3 M), almost eight times smaller than in the similar period last year. The national electricity transmission operation had losses in the second and third quarters this year, Mediafax informs. In the first nine months in 2011, Transelectrica obtained revenues of RON 153.43 M. In Q1 this year, the company obtained revenue of RON 43.6 M and then started making a loss. The national power transmission company obtained in January – September 2012 total revenue of RON 2.18 bn, higher by 4.8 per cent than last year, but expenditure went up by 13.5 per cent to RON 2.14 bn. From financial activity, Transelectrica had a loss higher by 2.2 times, of RON 64.82 M, and the operating profit EBIT dropped also by 2.2 times to RON 96.18 M. The turnover rose by 7.2 per cent in the first nine months, to RON 2.09 M. Debts falling due in less than one year dropped by 54.9 per cent to RON 626.81 M and those with maturities of over a year went up by 18.5 per cent to RON 1.18 bn.
