The Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MDRT) says the promotion of Romanian destinations on the German market continues, the ministry working on both classic promotion activities and actions carried out in cooperation with the biggest German tour operators including TUI. The tour operator will continue to promote Romanian destinations in 2013, through distribution channels specific to the online environment, according to a press release. In the context where marketing, as a general field, but also travel marketing seem to be massively migrating to the online environment which provides faster and more efficient channels, more adjusted to the current environmental concerns, the ministry says the presence of Romania on the portals of the biggest German tour operators remains an extremely important tool for promoting the national travel offer. For example, the German concern TUI informs this year it has started a process of massive reduction of the volume of print catalogues, orienting an important number of offers and destinations, not only Romanian ones, to the online environment. Other decisions made by the German tour operator independently from MDRT are to include in the portfolio of travel offers those Romanian products and destinations that best suit the profile of the target audience.
