Premier Victor Ponta removed Marius Lucian Obreja from the office of president of the State Assets Resolution Authority (AVAS) and replaced him with Adrian Volintiru, former manager with Rompetrol, Relad and Vulcan Bucharest. The PM also replaced AVAS vice-president Radu Ghidau with Andrei George Creci, a former deputy executive director with the Bucharest Municipality. The decisions were signed Friday by the prime minister.Marius Obreja said that the decision to replace him as AVAS president was politically- motivated, same as when he was appointed to this office, and added that he has nothing to blame himself for. “Nominations and removals from various offices, like that of AVAS president, are politically motivated. I assumed this when I was appointed to this position,” Obreja mentioned.
