ARSIT demands the abrogation of ‘VAT on cash’ system

The Association for Reforming the System of Taxes and Dues (ARSIT), a member of the Taxpayers Association of Europe, demands the abrogation of the so-called ‘VAT on cash’ system, under which VAT is paid upon collection of invoices, and it already sent the Ministry of Public Finance a letter warning that the system does not comply with the principles of neutrality, nor will it generate significant cost cuts for economic companies. Moreover, according to HotNews.ro, ARSIT mentions in the letter that, in order to represent an incentive, the system should have been optional rather than imposed, giving taxpayers the right to choose. The Association also initiated an online petition with this regard.
