Dacia boosts its exports, as the Romanian market contracts and absorbs less than 10 pc of the vehicles manufactured at Mioveni. The latest data released by Dacia show that 97 pc of the brand’s customers are new at global scale, while the remaining 3 pc owed a Dacia car in the past, Hotnews.ro reports. On the occasion of the first tests for the press with the new versions of Logan, Sandero and Sandero Stepway, Dacia and Renault officials said that Dacia remains a conquest brand, although eight years have passed since it was re-launched. The challenge for 2013 is to successfully penetrate the markets of the United Kingdom and Ireland. Asked about the situation in Romania, where the sales of new Dacia automobiles are declining, while the imports of used cars experience a massive increase, the CEO of Renault Commercial Romania, Thomas Dubruel commented: “Romanians are free to buy whatever car they want. Dacia is an alternative to second hand cars in Western Europe, not necessarily in Romania.”
