PSD MP Ion Stan, Deputy Chairman of the SRI Commission, was taken to the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) headquarters yesterday in order to be heard, judicial sources inform, being quoted by Mediafax. According to the aforementioned sources, a flagrant was not organized in this corruption case. Stan is charged with intercession. He allegedly asked for RON 1.3 M from a businessman in order to help him win public works contracts. Stan allegedly received RON 750,000 of that sum. “I know Stan as a very experienced man, especially in commissions of maximum responsibility. I believe this is a heavy blow for Parliament and for a commission that is tasked with very important things for Romania,” Democrat-Liberal Cezar Preda, Chairman of the SRI Commission, stated for Realitatea TV.
