BNR buys in leasing limos worth EUR 680,000

The National Bank of Romania (BNR) purchased from UniCredit Leasing Fleet Management five automobiles, in an operational leasing operation worth RON 3.1 M (EUR 680,000) VAT exclusive, Realitatea.net reports. The contract was awarded on September 12, by open tender, for the lowest price. The contract, financed from own sources, will spread on 4 years, starting from the date it was awarded. BNR received three offers for this contract, estimated at RON 3.44 M (VAT exclusive). According to the task book, the cars should have 4 or 5 places, petrol engines and 275 HP and 500 HP engines. BNR officials said such expenses are usual for the institution. “The National Bank has a complex car fleet for a complexity of activities. We buy continuously. Last year we bought, next year we will buy others, too. The National Bank is not a unit financed from the state budget. Not even one RON, EUR or USD spent by BNR comes from the budget,” said Adrian Vasilescu, BNR counselor.
