The CineMAiubit Festival, December 3-6 at Cinema Studio in Bucharest, includes student films from Romania, UK, France, Germany, United States and Spain.CineMAiubit is Romania’ only international film festival.This year’s Festival kicked off with a photography and poster exhibition, followed by the opening gala which gave the start to the international competition.For four days, viewers will have access to a marathon of student short films, documentaries, animation and experimental films from Romania, UK, France, Germany, Italy, UA, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Bulgaria, China and India, each of them telling original stories and presenting a large range of cinematic visions.The festival evenings are dedicated to fiction (Dec 3 – 5, starting from 5.00 pm and late into the night) and the daytime reserved to documentaries (Dec 4, 10.00 am – 4.30 pm) and animation/ experiment (Dec 5, 10.00 am – 4.30 pm).CineMAiubit carries on the competitive tradition in the sections short film screenplay, photography and film poster respectively, as well as screenwriting, the “Viorica Bucur” Award being a joint contribution including the Make a Point Association.This year’s CineMAiubit prides itself with “miniMidpoint”, the first crash workshop in script development organized in partnership with cu Midpoint Central European Script Center, with Hungarian director and screenwriter Csaba Bollok as student tutor.On the eve of the award ceremony, Thursday, from 6:30 pm, the launch of an event book: “Pages about cinema”, a volume joining the most valuable writings of the professor and reputed film critic and historian George Littera.
