Youth Weightlifting EC: Record number of medals for Romania

Romanian athletes have won a total of 25 medals (11 gold, 9 silver, 5 bronze) at the European Youth Weightlifting Championships in Eilat, Israel, Agerpres informs.On Friday, Andreea Aanei won two gold medals (snatch event – lifting 107 kg; and overall standings – 243 kg) and one silver medal (clean and jerk event – 136 kg). Marius Danciu (94 kg category) won gold in the snatch event (lifting 171 kg) and silver in the clean and jerk event (193 kg) and overall standings (364 kg). Loredana Toma (58 kg category) won three gold medals, just as Florin Ionut Croitoru did in the 62-kilogram category. Georgiana Tites (58 kg category) won a silver medal in the snatch event, and Marian Daniel Albu (56 kg category) won a bronze medal in the clean and jerk event. Irina Lepsa (63 kg category) won three silver medals. Paul Stoichita (77 kg category) won two gold medals in the clean and jerk event and overall standings. Adrian Ghisoiu won bronze in the same category, in the snatch event. Dana Berchi (53 kg category) won the bronze medal in the snatch event, silver medal in the clean and jerk event and was second in the overall standings. Razvan Nicoara (62 kg category) won a bronze medal in the snatch event and one in the overall standings.
