ING Bank Romania will only give out RON personal loans starting with January 1, 2013 considering the risk attached to foreign currency loans given the incomes are made in the home currency, a press release informs. The bank also had in view the National Bank of Romania (BNR) 2011 regulations that restricted foreign currency personal loans. ING Bank Romania began taking measures aimed at boosting RON loans since 2011. The adjusted offer resulted in a significant rise in RON loans, 38 pc since Jan 2012 and until now against the euro loans. Euro loan takers will continue paying back their loans in euro under the loan conditions agreed, and the application filled out by the end of this year will be honored in the requested currency.
