German business community expects new government to enact stable economic policies

According to official partial results, the Social Liberal Union (USL) won the parliamentary elections in Romania by a large majority. Commenting the result, Sebastian Metz, general manager of the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Romania) said: “We hope that a new government will be formed soon, and expect it to focus with all energy upon the important and stringent economic problems – especially against the background of reduced economic growth, poor foreign investments and the low absorption rate of European funds. We need predictable and stable economic policies, which will consolidate confidence in Romania beyond the borders of the country.” According to the AHK official, other important topics are: professional training, increasing the transparency of public tenders, the predictability of legal framework-conditions and, in general, a permanent dialogue between the government and the representatives of the business environment.
