Romania’s mobile internet, last in EU

Romania is last in the EU when it comes to companies equipping their employees with mobile devices that offer access to the internet, devices such as tablets, smartphones and laptops, the 22 per cent level being twice smaller than the 48 per cent EU average, a Eurostat report shows. Romania is outclassed by two regional non-EU states that are nevertheless included in the Eurostat report – Croatia (54 per cent) and Macedonia (25 per cent). At the same time, Romania fares slightly better when it comes to the percentage of large companies that equip their employees with tablets and smartphones (57 per cent compared to 88 per cent EU average). Romania is last but one ahead of Greece (56 per cent) but ranks behind Bulgaria (67 per cent).
