‘The world’s fastest novel’”, written in Bucharest by 53 writers, in 5 hours and 35 minutes

“Santa Claus & Co. The world’s fastest novel” is the title of the book written in a mere 5 hours and 35 minutes by a group of 53 writers, at the University of Bucharest on Saturday, a world’s first registered for record validation by the Guinness Book of Records, reports Mediafax. The writing of the book began at 10.20 am with the four main narrators, writers Gabriel H. Decuble, Florin Iaru, Razvan Tupa and Marius Chivu, jointly deciding the novel’s plan and title. Only 9 hours, 5 minutes and 8 seconds have passed between the starting moments and until the first copy of this original novel was printed, which the project originators consider as a “gift for the Romanian society”. The “Art” Publishing House, which will publish the 288 page novel, fruit of the collective effort of  53 writers, registered this unprecedented project with the Guinness Book of Records towards validation and homologation, which would happen on Christmas Eve. The Guinness Book declared the project eligible, creating a special category in this respect. Ioan Grosan and Matei Plesu were among the 53 writers of the world’s fastest novel.
