“Kings on Ice”, a regal performance in Bucharest, March 30

The “Kings On Ice” anniversary gala at Bucharest’s “Mihai Flamaropol” skating rink  March 30 , will join world artistic skating champions, among whom Evgenyi Plushenko, the uncontested king of artistic skating, Irina Slutskaia, Johnny Wier and Brian Joubert and well-known violinist Edvin Marton too, according to a press communique quoted by Mediafax. With an impressing list of honors including two world championship medals, seven European champion titles, two Olympic medals and many more trophies, Irina Slutskaia is an emblematic skater. She became known worldwide in 1996, when she won her first European champion title in Sofia, at the age of 16. She is also known for her trademark double Biellmann spin with a foot change, which she invented. American skater Johnny Weir, too, will be present for the first time at the 5th “Kings On Ice” in Bucharest. He made his debut in 1996, in the junior skating championships where he won several prizes and medals during a period of nearly five years. Named the “Skater of Year 2010” by the well-known Skating Magazine, Wier is appreciated not only for his outstanding skating results, but also for his non-conventional style and his involvement in the world of fashion. Tickets for “Kings On Ice” 2013 are available thru the Diverta store chain, Muzica store, “Mihai Eminescu” Bookshop, Palace hall and online at www.myticket.ro and are priced at RON 100 to RON 400.
