A poetry session dedicated to the Mihai Eminescu Day – National Culture Day, to also include a recital performed by actor Dorel Visan, will be held on Jan 15, at the Romanian Academy, 11.00 am, Mediafax quoted the Romanian Academy communique as saying. The event will take place in the Grand Hall of the Romanian Academy and will be attended by academicians Ionel Haiduc (president of the Romanian Academy), Dan Berindei (vice-president), Dinu C. Giurescu, Nicolae Breban, Ion Aurel Pop, Mihai Cimpoi and Eugen Simion. Part of the event, the Arts and Science National Foundation, chaired by Eugen Simion, will present the basic works published in 2012 and will award the Foundation Awards. The event will conclude with an Eminescu poetry recital performed by actor Dorel Visan. Mihai Eminescu (January 15, 1850 – June 15, 1889) was one of the most important Romanian poets and writers, and is considered a national poet. National Culture Day has been celebrated each year on January 15, since 2011, under a law promulgated in December 2010.
