Air carrier Blue Air canceled an order worth USD 462.2 M placed in 2008 for five Boeing 737 airplanes, scheduled for delivery in 2015-2016, because of the financial troubles experienced by the Romstrade company, informs a press release. Blue Air and Romstrade are the major companies of the group controlled by businessman Nelu Iordache, who is probed and remanded for embezzling RON 25 M from the funds allotted to the construction of the Nadlac-Arad motorway. “All Blue Air flights are operated in normal conditions, as provided by the flight schedule,” adds the release. Blue Air posted a turnover of nearly EUR 150 M in 2011, down 9 pc. The company operates an air fleet of nine Boeing planes, with capacities between 126 and 168 passengers.
