35 contenders for Romanian Lottery manager

According to Evenimentul Zilei daily newspaper, 35 candidates will contend for the next manager of the Romanian Lottery. The quoted source says that candidates include a Greek national and former managers of companies in fields unrelated to the gambling business. Following the press scandal over the gradual process whereby officials at the Public Finance Ministry (MFP) and the recruiting company learned about the names of the candidate s willing to run the National Lottery, the MFP heads decided to postpone until today the opening of the last envelopes containing the names of candidates for the position. This stage will be followed by file examination, interviews with those selected and the making public in a few weeks of the short list of candidates to be put before the General Meeting of Shareholders of the Romanian Lottery. According to Evenimentul Zilei, Romania’s Premier Victor Ponta last week said that the National Lottery would no longer enter contracts with Greece’s  INTRALOT group of companies.  Ponta also expressed his wish for the National Lottery to make a profit seven time higher than the current one.”
