Dacia is presenting for the first time at the Auto Show in Vienna the Dokker model manufactured in Morocco, a model that will be sold in Austria starting this spring, most likely in March, part of an upward trend in what concerns the Austrians’ interest for the models of our auto brand, business24.ro informs. “The Austrian market has started to know and appreciate the cars produced under the Dacia emblem in recent years and even though we are not talking about spectacular sales figures one can say that there is an upward trend in sales,” Silvia Davidoiu, the Romanian ambassador to Vienna, stated on Saturday. In Vienna, Dacia is staking not only on the Dokker but also on four other models: Duster, Lodgy, Sandero and Sandero Stepway. Silvia Davidoiu considers that Romania started this year on the right foot in Vienna thanks to its presence, for the second time as a partner country, at the Vienna Tourism Fair in which Sibiu, the only Romanian city with three Michelin stars and the first Romanian city to be designated European Capital of Culture, is the star. In other news, over 218,000 Austrian tourists visited Romanian last year, up by 14 per cent year-on-year, spending an estimated EUR 52 M, Simion Giurca, director of Romania’s Tourism Promotion Office in Austria, stated for Mediafax.Approximately 200,000 Austrians visited Romania by the end of November last year, up by 13.7 per cent compared to the same month in 2011, the National Statistics Institute shows. At the same time, the amount of money Austrians spent in Romania in the first three quarters of last year grew by 15.8 per cent to EUR 44 M, the National Bank of Austria shows.
