The National Railway Company’s (CFR) Administrative Council (CA) has appointed Dimitris Sophocleous general manager of the company, a communiqué shows, HotNews.ro informs. CFR’s CA, led by Chairman Isar Lucian, consists of five members – Isar Lucian, Dimitris Sophocleous, Sandu Danut, Jiru Enache and Kubinschi Florian Raimund. The members have four-year terms. Dimitris Sophocleous (46), a Greek-Cypriot citizen, is an economist partially qualified as an auditor in England. He was the chairman of the administrative council of real-estate developer Impact, CFO of A&D Pharma Holdings N.V., and CFO of Romtelecom prior to 2008. The work experience he gained in 25 years of activity in domains such as auditing, shipping, telecommunications and the pharmaceutical sector propelled him within the hierarchy of state-owned and public companies in Romania, companies such as Romtelecom and AD Pharma, where he was CFO.
