The 2007-2013 Regional Operational Programme managed by the Ministry for Regional Development and Public Administration (MDRAP) will finance the flyover designed to solve traffic congestion in the Northern part of Ploiesti city. According to a press release, a roundabout flyover will be built on county road DJ102 and the connection with DN1B through unlevelled access ways, with European funds. The agreement is for the amount of EUR 13.92 M, representing 80.35 per cent of the total eligible value of the project, to be allocated from non-repayable EU funds. The total project value is EUR 17.7 M. ‘I appreciate this technical solution which is still not used largely enough in our country. It is a cheaper, more sustainable and more easy to do technical solution, in my opinion. The work is supposed to be completed in 24 months,’ said Minister Liviu Dragnea. The project is meant to contribute to improving access to and from the localities in the Northern part of the Ploiesti-Prahova Growth Pole and in the direction of the Prahova County Emergency Hospital. The peri-urban traffic will be thus separated from national motor traffic and road traffic in the Northern part of Ploiesti will be re-organised. A total of 133 temporary jobs will be created during the implementation of the project. The unlevelled flyover will be 956 m long and the central ring will be 282 m long.
