Artmark also reports that works by the established interwar classic and modern painters were much sought after in 2012, their prices being more accessible than those of heritage painters. After 2011, which saw the top Romanian painters achieving stunning quota rises (Nicolae Grigorescu +58.61 pc, Nicolae Tonitza +48.49 pc), 2012 was a consolidation year.
