Dacia sales up nearly 5 pc in 2012

Sales of Dacia cars went up by 4.8 pc last year from year on year to 359,822 units, of which a little over 6 pc in Romania, where the company remains an automotive leader. Sales were highest in France (23.4 pc), Germany (13 pc), Algeria, Turkey and Italy, according to the Dacia press release Friday. On foreign markets, Dacia posted an 8 pc increase in sales, to 337,674 units sold in 43 countries, with the EuroMed markets the top sellers, up 26.6 pc. Dacia remains a Romanian auto market leader, despite local sales ranking sixth, at 22,148 units, behind foreign car brands.
