‘Child’s Position’ in competition at the Berlinale

The Berlin International Film Festival taking place from February 7 to February 17 has announced the films selected for the competition. ‘The Child’s Position’ by Calin Peter Netzer is the only Romanian feature film short listed for the final selection of the 63rd edition of the Berlinale. The Romanian film director who has received a number of prizes for ‘Medal of Honour’ and ‘Maria’, competes for the Golden Bear trophy with some famous names in the world cinema. ‘The Child’s Position’ joins the race for the Berlinale awards next to 18 other movies including ‘Promised Land’ directed by Gus Van Sant, with Matt Damon in the lead part, ‘Side Effects’, a thriller by Steven Soderbergh, ‘Camille Claudel 1915’, by French director Bruno Dumont, ‘Closed Curtain’, by Jafar Panahi, the Iranian filmmaker currently in prison, ‘Paradise: Hope’, the last part of the trilogy of German director Ulrich Seidl, or ‘ ‘An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker’ by Danis Tanovic, a Oscar winner for his ‘No Man’s Land’.
