Gheorghe Racaru returns as BlueAir general manager, nearly four years after Sherif Ussama succeeded him as head of the low-cost airline in March 2010, Mediafax quoted Blue Air Marketing Manager Mirela Secan as saying. Racaru had been with the company as general manager right from the start, in 2004, and until 2009, when he was appointed general manager at the Romstrade Group, also owned by businessman Nelu Iordache. Early last January, Blue Air announced that it cancelled, on grounds of financial trouble experienced by Romstrade, a 462.2 M USD order placed in 2008 for the delivery of five Boeing 737aircraft in 2015-2016. In 2011, Blue Air posted a business turnover of EUR 150 M, down 9 pc year on year.
