Marcel Alexandru, cleared by Parliament for ambassador in Algeria

The Foreign Policy committees of the Parliament on Tuesday approved the proposal to nominate Marcel Alexandru as ambassador in Algeria. After hearings in the committees, the proposal was approved with unanimity of votes. Marcel Alexandru was proposed by the MAE for the position of ambassador in the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, after charge d’affaires in this country for 11 months. He was state secretary with the SIE, in charge with international cooperation, between 2001 and 2005, then between 2006 and 2011 he was the general consul of Romania in Strasbourg. Marcel Alexandru joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986, then in 2006 he became doctor in socio-legal sciences on preventing and countering terrorism.
