Romania has started the year with a defeat at the hands of Poland (4-1) in a friendly game in Malaga, Spain. “We used a new team, while our opponents were familiar with each other. For me the result doesn’t matter, maybe it does for the players. Maybe they are disappointed now. We conceded goals every time they had goal-scoring chances, and in the second half we missed two important chances. It’s a difficult period, we underwent three training sessions per day and this will be visible in the championship,” coach Victor Piturca stated, Mediafax informs. Romania will next play against Australia on Wednesday, February 6.
