Gov’t expects to get some EUR 61.5 M from CFR Marfa privatisation

The Minister of Transport expects to get at least RON 268.75 M (61.5 M euro) from the sale of 51 pc of the state-owned rail freight operator CFR Marfa, after all the privatization-related spending worth RON 22 M this year, according to a government draft resolution passing the ministry’s revenues and spending budget. This year, the institution expects total revenues worth RON 291 from privatization. The document points to a total revenue and spending amount of RON 341.1 M, with the former also including RON 50 M from dividends corresponding to the fiscal year 2012. Government pledged in the latest round of negotiations with the IMF to publish the CFR Marfa privatization announcement this coming March and to sign the majority stake sales contract by mid-May, with the transaction to be wrapped up only when “all the conditions have been met”.
