The oil and gas output of OMV Petrom slightly declined in Q4 to 183,000 barrels oil equivalent a day, while the sales of gas and energy dropped by 11 pc to 14.44 TWh, but the profit margin stayed at a favourable level, Austrian group OPMV reported in a press release. In the last quarter of 2011, OMV Petrom produced 186,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day, while gas and energy sales amounted to 16.23 TWh. The output of oil and gas of OMV slightly increased in the respective interval, from 289,000 to 301,000 barrels oil equivalent a day. OMV’s sales of gas and energy advanced by 40 pc, from 91.62 to 128.67 TWh, driven by a strong growth of trading operations, which represented approximately 65 pc of total gas sales. The group anticipates that it will post for Q4 a lower taxation rate than in the previous quarter, due to a higher contribution of Petrom in the profit.
