USL MEPs want CVM abolished

Liberal MEPs Ramona Manescu and Cristian Busoi, and PSD MEP Corina Cretu have asked, during the EP’s plenary meeting in Strasbourg, for the abolishment of the CVM for Romania, the three criticizing the latest report published by the European Commission last week. “Considering the CVM’s ambiguous regulation, the political influence, but also the fact that the three-year period initially established at the moment of accession has expired, I am asking the European Commission to put an end to the procedure of monitoring Romania through the CVM,” Manescu stated during the one-minute speech session at the end of the plenary meeting on Monday evening. Likewise, Cristian Busoi asked the Commission to correct “the aspects that do not match reality” in the latest report and “to offer a clear timetable on closing down the CVM for Romania.”
