Snow returns

The National Weather Administration issued a warning in effect from Sunday morning until Monday at noon, about precipitations that will gradually expand all over Romanian, starting from the south-west. Snow will form a layer of 10…15 cm on the ground, Sunday, in the Banatului Mountains and the Southern Carpathians, and also the Eastern Carpathians, Monday morning. The snow will be generally light in the west, center and north of the country. Dobrogea, Muntenia and southern Moldavia will see some rain which will cumulate 15…20 liters per square meter in spots.
At the mountain it will snow abundantly, resulting in a thick layer on the ground (10-15 cm), especially in the Banatului Mountains and the Southern Carpathians throughout the day, and the Eastern Carpathians during night time. The snow layer already measures 88 cm at Sinaia, 60 cm at Predeal, 23 cm at Arieseni, 62 cm at Straja, 30 cm at Poiana Brasov and 65 cm at Paltinis.
The intra-Carpathian regions, too, will see days of authentic winter, with temperatures 1-2 degrees lower than the average for this moment of the year. Rain returns to Dobrogea, which will enjoy the highest temperatures of the country: 9 degrees Celsius at Constanta and 8 degrees at Tulcea.
