Maior: Terror threat constantly rising over last couple of months

After Tuesday’s  parliamentary Commission for SRI activities hearing, George Maior, head of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), said that the terror threat in Romania has been rising steadily during the past couple of months. Maior told the commission: “We have been trying to keep the terror threat away from this country, threat which has already affected Romania’s neighbour, Bulgaria. Another priority aspect mentioned refers to the cyber security safety of the country. We have been able to counteract extremely tough attacks against such state infrastructure, including the basic state institutions, such as MAE or economic institutions, “said Maior, who also spoke of a “rising trend in cross-border organized crime”.
