CCR: State budget law is constitutional

The Romanian Constitutional Court (CCR) has decided that state budget law is constitutional, the decision being adopted with unanimous votes. The CCR’s plenum debated yesterday, as part of the process of overseeing laws prior to their promulgation, the unconstitutionality claim filed against the state budget law by Democrat-Liberal MPs. “Following the deliberations, the Constitutional Court decided, with unanimous votes, that the state budget law is constitutional. The arguments in favor of the decision will be presented in the decision that will be published in the Official Gazette. The decision is final and mandatory and will be communicated to the Romanian President, the Speakers of the two Chambers of Parliament and the Prime Minister,” a Court communiqué quoted by Mediafax reads. PDL First Vice President Mihai Stanisoara stated that PDL respects CCR’s decision on the state budget law
